Economics O'Reilly Style

Here's just another reason to ignore the media talking heads and their circus of nonsensical distraction. Check out this article on arbyte.us. He does an excellent job of dissecting a recent web broadcast of the 9/21/05 "Talking Points Memo" of The O'Reilly Factor. It's truly amazing that simple concepts that high school and undergraduate college students learn and understand, are lost on this conservative crackpot. If you visit his biography on his home page it says that, "the name Bill O'Reilly is synonymous with hard hitting, uncompromising no spin reporting and analysis." Well, after hearing this segment of his show I would say his name should be synonmous with complete economic ignorance.

Again, quoting from his homepage: "The O'Reilly Factor, seen weeknights on the Fox News Channel, continues to dominate the television news ratings, consistently ranking as the highest rated cable news show for more than two years. It is also carried in dozens of foreign countries." Wow! Not only are we bombarded with blathering Bill's poisonous prattle here at home, but foreigners living in "dozens" of countries also fall under his spell. This guy has a bachelors and two masters degrees, one of them from Harvard, and he still couldn't pass a 100-level Econ class at the community college down the street.
